Harry Reid vows Federal Transparency Act will never be voted on in the Senate

Published July 25, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Harry Reid

Supporters of Rep. Ron Paul and sound monetary policy rejoiced online as they heard of the passage of H.R. 456, the Federal Transparency Act, on Wednesday. Their joy, however, was short-lived as within an hour of the bill passing word spread from the office of the Harry Reid. The Senate Majority Leader and Nevada Democrat has vowed the Federal Transparency Act will not be put to a vote in the Senate.

Harry Reid had previously expressed support for an audit of the Federal Reserve. Perhaps seeing the overwhelming support the H.R. 459 received in the House of Representatives made Reid wary of the Federal Transparency Act passing. H.R. 459passed by a bipartisan vote of 327-98.

Ron Paul supporters have already begun to get active online, sharing the contact information to Harry Reid’s office. One supporter called his office instantly, claiming that he would be encouraging his friends to vote Harry Reid out of office.

The contact information being shared is the following:

Colo. shooting lawsuit filed, man blames theater, doctors, and Warner Bros.

Published July 24, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

lawsuit was filed Tuesday, just a few days after the largest mass shooting in the history of the United States, blaming the theater, the doctors of James Holmes, and the film studio Warner Bros. Torrence Brown, Jr. was in Century 16 Theater when James Holmes started his killing spree. Brown was not injured although one of his best friends, A.J. Boik, was fatally shot in the chest. Brown claims to be suffering from extreme trauma.

Brown’s attorney, Donald Karpel, told TMZ that the theater was negligent. The emergency exit door in the front had no alarm and was not guarded. Many believe that Holmes purchased a ticket, entered the theater, propped open the emergency exit from the inside, and then went to his car and returned with four guns.

Penn State University fined $60 million and 111 wins by NCAA

Published July 24, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

In an unprecedented act on Monday, the governing body of U.S. college sports hasfined Penn State University $60 milliondollars claiming that the school had worshipped Jerry Sandusky and put winning ahead of integrity, honesty, and responsibility. The National College Athletic Association (NCAA) also voided Penn State‘s football victories for the last 14 seasons (1998 through 2011). The 14 seasons erases 111 of Coach Paterno’s wins and strips him of his standing as the most successful coach in the history of college football.

Penn State did not receive the “death penalty” that could have eliminated its football program, but the university was banned from post-season play for the next four years. The scholarship program at Penn State was also cut by 40 percent (dropping from 25 players to 15). This is the price that Penn State University will pay for Jerry Sandusky, who brought boys onto the college campus and molested them as the college looked the other way.

Amazon wants to give me $2 to change my profile and follow people with my Twitter account

Published July 23, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

So I saw this fun promotion! I connect my Amazon account with my Twitter account and I get $2 in free credits to buy MP3s.  I love free stuff, Amazon, and music, so this seemed like a no-brainer!

Also, I can see the merit in having my Twitter account linked to my Amazon:

“Angel just added Item of Awesomeness to her wishlist!” – Then people could buy it for me! My online wishlist would actually have a point!

I clicked the button to add my Twitter account to my Amazon and read the permissions Amazon wants…

I’m sorry Amazon, but who are you planning on following and why the hell do you want to update my profile?  Is it not enough that you would have access to all the people who follow me (and my Facebook page since that’s linked to my Twitter) but you have to follow people AND update my profile???

You’re planning on changing my profile picture to this chick and making me follow Nair aren’t you…

Nice try Amazon, but not good enough…

Was Dan Gaffney fired? Did he resign by choice? Was he sent an ominous Facebook message?

Published July 18, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Sometimes Karma is a bitch! Many of you may remember when I was fired from a local talk radio station, WGMD, through a Facebook message.  At the time I proclaimed that no manager should ever treat any employee that way, that people deserved more.

Well, according to a local paper, The Cape Gazette, Dan Gaffney, the very man who fired me 7 months ago, has resigned.

WGMD talk show host Dan Gaffney said today he resigned from the conservative talk radio station.  Gaffney said Wednesday, July 18 will be his last day with WGMD.

According to Gaffney’s Facebook page, he has worked on and off for the Rehoboth Beach radio station since 1986.  Originally from Ohio, Gaffney, 49, and his wife, Becky Gaffney, live in Milford.

I can think of two reasons one would leave with one day’s notice.  He was either told to resign, or he quit, ready to move on to other paths.

Here’s my issue, this local paper is my only source.  There is nothing at all on the station’s website

If it is true, I just hope that he wasn’t fired through a Facebook message, and that he’s never a manager again.

UPDATE: Rumor has it Dan will be starting a Christian podcast with his wife… This was mentioned on Facebook last night, but no one seemed to pick up on it. The question is, was it a choice?

Steven Ettinger was arrested at the Asbury Boardwalk Civil Disobedience Swimsuit Party

Published July 17, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

So on Saturday I headed up to the Asbury Park Civil Disobedience Swimsuit Party, which ended up being a celebration as the 1958 ordinance was repealed a few days prior to the event.  It seems that the City Council may not have wanted the press that comes with a scantily clad protest.

The ordinance said: “No person clad in bathing attire shall be on the boardwalk or the public walks adjacent thereto.”

Since that changed, most of us expected no one would be arrested.  It seemed we were wrong.

Dave Cahill was an awesome performer.  I spoke along with Eddie Free, Danny Panzella, Garrett Fox, Chris Cantwell, and Adam Kokesh.  During Adam’s speech, he asked Steve Ettinger to show everyone his “Borat style thong”.

After Steve showed his thong, he was arrested for indecent exposure.

You can watch the ustream of the entire event here.

Here’s a video of just the arrest.

“Borat” Arrested for Swimsuit Malfunction in Asbury Park NJ

After the arrest, the people gathering were told that they were no longer allowed to use amplified sound or sing, so Dave Cahill started singing and playing his guitar to call their bluff – that was pretty awesome to watch, especially after he put on his alien mask.

Steven Ettinger has a hearing to decided whether charges will be pressed. The hearing is July 27th, 2012, at 10 am at the Asbury Park Court.  Steve has created a chipin asking for donations as he has a 9 hour trip (round trip) to get to the court.  He may need even more if he is charged as he may be looking at a $1,000 fine.

FIND THE CHIPIN HERE!

For those who couldn’t attend the event, instead of buying Steve a drink, donate a round to his chipin! I am!

What a day! (but at least I started my elections guide)

Published July 13, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Oh my! During tonight’s show my headphones went out, my internet went out, and my computer crashed… The only thing that could have gone wrong that didn’t was that my chair didn’t break… Also frustrating was that I lost all the work I had done on my elections guide (about 3 hours).

So I started my official 2012 elections guide over again.  It took ages tonight, but I got the main guidelines ready!

http://www.examiner.com/article/delaware-2012-elections-information

Most likely by the end of next week every race in the state will have its own page and be linked back to this main page in some way, shape, or form. Then I can start publishing the press releases!

It would be done this weekend but I’m headed to New Jersey to speak at the Asbury Boardwalk Civil Disobedience Swimsuit Party!

Now I have to sleep. I’ve been staring at this screen for so long tonight my contacts hurt.

New Hampshire man serving 60 days for writing with chalk

Published July 12, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

When I was a child, I used chalk to draw all over the sidewalk. I loved coloring in rainbows and flowers, and even playing hopscotch. Despite my overactive imagination, I never once imagined a situation where someone drawing with chalk would end up jailed.

Ademo Freeman of New Hampshire was arrested in June of last year for taking part in a protest during which activists used children’s chalk to write on the sidewalk and on the exterior walls of a building during a police accountability rally. Eight were arrested that day, some for graffiti and criminal mischief charges, and others for not moving fast enough when photographs were being taken of the chalked statements before they washed the evidence away.

Are you running for office in Delaware?

Published July 11, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

I just sent out the following email to everyone who gave the correct email address in Sussex County (except for one politician who I shall not publish anything from his office)… If you didn’t get one, and you filed in Sussex, chances are you filed with the wrong email address.  Feel free to reach out! Also, I’m working on getting the filing list for New Castle County and Kent, but if you’re in the state and running, let me know!

Hi!  My name is Angel Clark.  I am a writer, blogger, and talk radio host.  I would like to congratulate you on filing to be a candidate in Delaware!

Running for office can be a scary thing (even if you’re already elected), and sometimes it is difficult to know who will publish your information in an unbiased way.  That’s why I’m emailing you.  You gave your email address when you filed and I am taking advantage of that!

Regardless of which party you belong to, I believe that voters should be informed.  If you send me press releases, I will publish them, objective and unbiased.  I will not add my opinions to your press releases, and I will give you the chance to get the word out!

Thanks (and best of luck to you)!

Angel

This email has been sent to you and your opponent(s).

If you’re running in Sussex County, and you had the correct email address on the filing form, and you didn’t get an email from me, there’s a reason (you know who you are).  You are an ass.
