Jon Moseley comments about the Christine O’Donnell lawsuit

Published October 26, 2011 by Sussex County Angel

I was once again sent this email. I will just share the email with you so that you have the same information that I do:

Fairfax, Virginia (October 26, 2011) – Jon Moseley provided the following comment about news today of a lawsuit over his work for ‘Friends of Christine O’Donnell.’

“Contrary to the impression left by news reports, ’Friends of Christine O’Donnell’ filed a unique Delaware legal request asking for a ‘declaratory judgment’ in Delaware’s Court of Common Pleas.   Neither ‘Friends of Christine O’Donnell’ nor Jonathon Moseley have claimed any fault or wrong-doing by any one.  Unfortunately, the public often has a very negative impression of any lawsuit, even when people simply have a question that needs an answer.”

“The O’Donnell campaign filed a special kind of Delaware lawsuit that simply asks the Court: ‘Tell us whether we owe the money or not.’  Contrary to how this has been presented in the news, what the lawsuit actually says is that the Treasurer needs to know what is legally required.  As it was explained to me during an in-person negotiation in lawyer Rich Abbot’s office, a campaign cannot give a gift to someone.  The campaign is not allowed to pay money unless it is appropriately and legally owed.  The question was raised about the statute of limitations.  The only way that can get decided is having a judge decide.”

“So concern exists that if money is not actually owed under the law, the Treasurer would be acting improperly by making a payment.   Rapidly evolving work arrangements — while the 2010 campaign staff was disbanding after the campaign was over — apparently may have created very different understandings of what was intended with little time to stop and talk about it. Although I have my own view, I can understand why miscommunication and rapidly-unfolding events gave some people a different expectation.  But again, there is no implication of anything wrong by anyone, but questions about what legal technicalities.

“From what I have seen over 8 years, Christine O’Donnell is 99% good and an awesome person, a better person than I am, and one of the smartest people I know.  Christine could read ‘backgrounders’ on a totally new topic and two hours later debate the top expert in the country on that new topic on national television.  Her campaign speech at the Wilmington Riverfront at the end of October 2010 was absolutely flawless. I was floored. However, she does not consider it the best use of her time to attend to administrative details and relies on others who sometimes let her down on administrative details.  Some details do get lost.”

“Friends of mine who also know Christine asked me during the 2010 general election: ‘Do you really think Christine would make a good U.S. Senator?’ Yes, as I must honestly repeat now, I am convinced that Christine O’Donnell would have and still would make an excellent U.S. Senator. I would be lying if I said anything different. Her strengths are with policy, debate, presentation, and persuasion. I do not know of any one alive who would be better as a legislator than Christine, even now. Christine O’Donnell is a ‘magnificent communicator’ and among the smartest women I have met. But putting together a good ‘hands free’ administrative structure, which will allow her to focus elsewhere, is something Christine is still pursuing.  She has wanted for as long as I’ve known her to have a team who will allow her to maximize her talents.  I would note that chasing this elusive goal is one of the dominant, persistent discussions among management gurus, consultants, and experts.”

“Comparing my interactions with Christine over the last 8 years, I (finally, slowly) realized how much the cruel, false, juvenile, mocking, and unfair attacks and insults have taken their toll.  Christine has taken this abuse far better than most people ever could.  Yet I can see how she responds a little differently than I remember.  My own faults and poor communication, dealing with my own issues, aggravated a tense and uncomfortable situation. While debating pros and cons of possible actions, there are a lot of tough words I wish I could go back and change.”

“I look forward to having a court or some decision-maker give clear direction to the lawyers and advisers, so that we can quickly retire this issue, and unite in electing conservatives to the White House, Congress, and state legislatures in 2012. I much rather enjoy debating with liberals than with each other.”

“I also want to correct and clarify any mis-impression:  The work I am seeking payment for was not about Christine’s book.”

Two lawsuits – Christine O’Donnell and Jon Moseley and the Huffington Post

Published October 26, 2011 by Sussex County Angel

Jon Moseley is apparently suing Christine O’Donnell:

In Wednesday’s News Journal….Christine O’Donnell is in a legal dispute with a former campaign worker who claims he wasn’t paid in full.
Virginia attorney Jonathan Moseley has demanded $18,250 for work and expenses this year and in 2008 for the former Delaware Republican Senate candidate, according to a declaratory judgment complaint O’Donnell filed last week.

Jon must be busy because he’s also suing the Huffington Post.

I was sent this email a few hours ago:

The fight against the liberal JOURNO-LIST and left-wing media continues with a new lawsuit filed by Jonathon Moseley, who previously exposed lies against Christine O’Donnell.  (Moseley’s work with Christine O’Donnell has been concluded and he seeks other clients in Virginia and on non-State-specific matters.)

LAWSUIT AGAINST THE HUFFINGTON POST FILED

BY ATTORNEY JON MOSELEY FOR SUSAN BRADFORD
Fairfax, Virginia (October 26, 2011) – A “Bill of Particulars” detailing a lawsuit against The Huffington Post by reporter and author Susan Bradford was filed today in the Fairfax County General District Court in Fairfax, Virginia.   The trial in the case will be scheduled on November 7, 2011, expected to be a half-day trial in January 2012.
In June 2008, The Huffington Post reviewed Susan Bradford’s work and offered her $12,000 for a series of articles on the topic.  (Bradford had asked for $15,000, but shook hands — literally — on $12,000.)

Investigative reporter SUSAN BRADFORD claims to have discovered the surprising news of how, in her account, false allegations against Jack Abramoff had been spread by Senator John McCain (apparently in retaliation for campaign tactics in South Carolina) and jealous lobbying competitors to Jack Abramoff’s nouveau empire in the lobbying sphere.  Susan Abramoff contends that the Native American tribes who Abramoff was said to have cheated reject those accusations.

However, when Susan Bradford submitted the final series of articles, she was told the deal was off.
Then, a few days later, The Huffington Post published the same exclusive news scoop revelations under someone else’s name.
So Susan Bradford’s scoop was published — but she wasn’t paid for it.  Nor was she given credit for her work.
Susan Bradford is suing for the payment not received of $12,000.
The complete lawsuit “Bill of Particulars” can be downloaded from  http://www.DefenseForVirginia.com

Christine O’Donnell is donating to four 2012 GOP Presidential Candidates

Published October 24, 2011 by Sussex County Angel

I received an email while I was on the air last night from Christine PAC - informing me that she has donated to two GOP Presidential Candidates and is planning on donating to two others. Any guess who?

I contributed to Gov. Romney, Herman Cain and I plan to personally contribute to Sen. Santorum and Speaker Gingrich.

Christine makes explanations which I will share with you regarding her choices.

While running errands at my local Target Friday night I was unexpectedly contacted by ABC News asking me about my personal political contributions in the 2012 GOP Presidential Primary. This seemed to cause a bit of a stir, so I am writing to you directly to share my thoughts on the upcoming 2012 elections and our role as a movement.

I view contributing to the candidates as a sort of vote before the final vote. Imagine if during the MLB playoffs you could jump onto the field and actually play with your favorite team rather than just root from the sidelines. Well, unlike sports junkies, we political junkies have that luxury. Contributing even a small amount to candidates helps them move to the next level. Once they’ve made it to the next level, we spectators can assess how well they do under the new heightened amount of scrutiny and pressure before we commit to our final vote.

For that reason, I contributed to Gov. Romney, Herman Cain and I plan to personally contribute to Sen. Santorum and Speaker Gingrich. Let me clarify that these contributions are from me personally, not my campaign or PAC.

Why I contributed to Gov. Romney.

One of the problems with our current president is that he was too inexperienced when he was sworn in. This lack of executive leadership is the reason Pres. Obama has no problem leading from behind and serving as our Follower in Chief. As a result, our economy is a mess and it’s just getting worse. Voters are craving strong leadership. Mitt has it. He’s one of the only front runners with both successful government executive experience and successful business executive experience. This is a strong contrast to Pres. Obama.

And the very thing that Gov. Romney was criticized for in 2008, I find appealing heading into 2012. In the midst of such turmoil and uncertainty, it’s comforting that he’s strong, solid and stands as an unmovable Oak tree in the middle of a raging storm. Viscerally, voters will respond to that as the Obama Administration falls more and more into chaos.

I hope the fact that I stood up to the liberal establishment within my own party gives me the bona fides among conservatives to say the following; I find the tone and nastiness of some of the things circulating around the internet about Romney extremely offensive. His words and actions are being twisted out of context and well, maybe I am not so objective here, but I think it is below the belt to be so blatantly deceptive about a candidate’s positions. This is the other reason I contributed to Gov. Romney. I don’t think he is getting a fair shake from some within my own movement. While we may not agree with 100% of his positions, he’s been a champion against a liberal bastion and deserves our respect.

When I tweet about Gov. Romney or mention that I am leaning towards getting behind him, for the most part, people agree with me. Yet what concerns me is the intensity with which a few disagree. This intensity concerns me not only because it is misplaced, but because it could cost us the election if Romney does become our nominee.

Let me explain:

Right now a lawn gnome could beat Obama in 2012, so, yes, we can be picky, but not nasty or malicious. If we don’t stop the Republican cannibalism we’re simply turning this election over to the Democrats, who certainly don’t deserve it. We should learn a lesson from what happened in my race last year. I was consistently beating my democratic opponent in the pre-primary head to head match up… and then the Republican Establishment launched their shameless attack and changed all that. As the saying goes, a lie runs around the world while the truth is still lacing up its shoes. So when I see Romney’s record being so obviously distorted and twisted, I tend to empathize.

We as a movement need to be relentlessly picky in House and Senate Races to Ensure Strong Willed Constitutionalists Are Elected to Congress.

Additionally, those (few) who have that intense reaction against Gov. Romney need to remember that as President, he is not writing or passing legislation. He is signing or vetoing what Congress sends to him. Therefore, we as a movement need to focus our scrutiny and attention on electing a strong willed Congress. We need to ensure that more solid Constitutional Republicans are serving in both the House and the Senate. It is in these races where we must be relentlessly picky. They also need to remember that Pres. Reagan was considered moderate by many until he stepped into the Oval office and cleaned up the economic mess we were in.

I also contributed to Hermain Cain, who should be our next Sect. of Treasury or Federal Reserve Chairman.

I did also give to Cain’s campaign, yet can safely say I will not give to Cain any more. I wanted to help push him to the next level to see how he would do under this increased pressure. I like Cain personally and I think he is holding Democrats accountable for their blind allegiance to our Follower in Chief. For that reason, I want to help him stay in the race as long as possible, hence the donation. Yet I don’t know if Cain can withstand the onslaught that will inevitably come during the General Election. And I don’t like the third 9 in his 999 plan. While in my mind he’s no longer a contender, I do think he should be our next Federal Reserve Chairman or Secretary of Treasury.

As the Election Cycle Continues, I will continue contribute to other candidates.

Just before ABC reached out to me, I was going over my personal budget as I want to also send something to Sen. Santorum and Speaker Gingrich because I want to help them move to front-runner status. We need these two gentlemen in the race even more than we need Cain. Newt is a treasure trove of political wisdom and Santorum holds our party accountable to our platform and roots. (I actually put a few things back from my cart at Target and thought “I’ll use the money instead for Newt or Santorum.” No joke! They were just kitchen items, throw pillows and stuff like that. But right now I would rather have Santorum stay in the race than new throw pillows.)

I love Michelle Bachman and supported in her different ways early on. She’s enjoyed front-runner status and it’s up to her committed supporters to bring her back. If she does not win the nomination, she’d be an amazing Vice Presidential pick. If that doesn’t happen, she should certainly have a role in the next presidential administration.

Alright, that’s my time on the soapbox, so it’s someone else’s turn.

I could make many speculations regarding the attitude many Tea Party members have towards Mitt Romney, but I won’t. I could make speculations on the fact that since Herman Cain should be our “next Federal Reserve Chairman”, Christine seems to think that the Federal Reserve should continue. I could also make speculations regarding the fact that Christine seems to have endorsed four candidates with Mitt Romney holding the throne…

But let’s face it, this is not an endorsement, it’s a donation. I will add a message to Christine:

Just because you feel empathetic regarding Mitt Romney’s plight and fight with the media does not mean that there isn’t a reason he is being scrutinized.  I don’t think that it’s because he is under such scrutiny that people are feeling like Romney is more of the same, it could be because he is a toolbox…

That being said – Pat Buchanan says the following:

“It’s a real possibility because the tea party folks and the Republican conservatives and social conservatives and others are very apprehensive of Mitt Romney and they don’t feel he is really one of us,” Buchanan told Newsmax.

I will add one final point regarding Mitt Romney. Christine O’Donnell was a candidate supported by THE PEOPLE of the Tea Party. I doubt that applies to Mitt Romney -

Records of campaign contributions based on Federal Election Commission data released electronically this past weekend, reveal that Romney’s top 20 donors are made up almost exclusively of the biggest private banks on the planet.

Among Romney’s top twenty donors are Credit Suisse Group, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Wells Fargo and Citigroup Inc.”

I don’t think you should support a candidate because you are empathetic to their plight. I felt pity for Moammar Gaddafi as I watched video of him pleading for his life, that doesn’t mean that I supported the cruel dictator who had no regard for human life.

Christine O’Donnell will NOT be on Dancing with the Stars

Published March 1, 2011 by Sussex County Angel

Christine O’Donnell has released the following statement:

“I’m honored to have been invited to participate in one of the few uplifting TV shows out there. The physical challenge made it all the more appealing. Meeting challenges head-on makes us stronger. Yet, for now, I have another challenge before me; to complete a book that tells the story of the 2010 election cycle with the dignity and respect it deserves.

“Many referred to the 2010 elections, and all the activity leading up to them, as the start of the Second American Revolution. This is because so many everyday Americans found themselves engaged in the civic process for the very first time. It’s humbling to have an opportunity to write a book that tells their story.

“It is my hope that this book will serve as a clarion call to my fellow citizen-activists by taking the reader beyond petitions and protests and articulating not just what we should do, but why we must do it.

“My goal is for the book and the new PAC I’m starting to serve as resources to activate and motivate those in this middle-class movement who worked so hard to launch the new revolution. If either of these projects were further along, I would be lacing up my dancing shoes right now.”

Sussex GOP faces their fears… the Tea Party

Published February 18, 2011 by Sussex County Angel

Christine O’Donnell stated recently on a local radio show that although she had not planned the events currently going on in Sussex County, Delaware, she approved of what was happening.  Much of this may have had something to do with the infamous statements made by the Delaware GOP Chair Tom Ross.  Remember how he said that Christine wasn’t eligible to be elected dogcatcher?  It seemed throughout Christine’s entire run for Senate that many in the Republican Party weren’t supporting her although most weren’t as vocal as Tom Ross.  Supporters of Christine had a difficult time gaining access to party resources even after Christine beat Mike Castle in the primary.  Tom Ross even filed a legal complaint against Christine O’Donnell and Tea Party Express which has forced Christine to set aside $500,000 for legal proceedings.

As a result, the Tea Party activists in Sussex County tried to take a stand with the local establishment GOP.  Last night’s Sussex County GOP meeting was the culmination of those efforts to date and almost left me speechless… almost.  I will attempt to put into words what I witnessed.  Let me add that I did not orchestrate these events although I do feel like I wrestled a walrus after simply watching the meeting.

Many local activists have been vocal about attempting to co-opt the local GOP as opposed to the GOP co-opting the Tea Party (which the media claims has been going on since day one).  Due to their transparency, the Sussex County GOP Chairman, Ron Sams, knew he was going to be asked to resign tonight.  Why would they ask Ron Sams to resign as opposed to dealing directly with Tom Ross?  Sams has been flagrantly ignoring rules to keep local conservatives from changing the Good Ol’ Boy system he loves so much.

Ron Sams and the Vice Chairman were both absent last night allowing for a unique circumstance.  Local activists were able to vote in a temporary chairperson (although the 44 to 34 vote was a bit too close for comfort) who would actually allow them to vote on a few important issues which local Good Ol’ Boy politicians had been squashing since the election in November.  While waiting for the results to see which side would control the meeting one activist may have put it best.  Do you remember your prom night?  Remember waiting to see whether you or your friends would win king and queen?  Everyone is all dressed up and hoping for the results they want.  Although the 34 people who voted for the Good Ol’ Boy system to remain the same may not have been happy with the results, most of the estimated 400 people in the room cheered loudly.

A few motions were passed, some appointments were changed, and some committees were dissolved.  Brent Wangen, Libertarian turned Republican, was voted in to head the new committee in charge of the new Rules Committee.  (I am still in awe just typing that, in fact I think I will repeat it)  Brent Wangen, Libertarian turned Republican, is in charge of making the new rules of the Sussex County GOP.  I realize that the rules his committee finalizes will have to be voted upon, but this is a huge accomplishment in itself.

A motion was officially submitted and voted upon for Ron Sams to resign although the motion is nonbinding and simply represented the opinions of the party at large.  The motion may be read in its entirety here.  The word that stands out the most to me personally is FAIL.  The motion repeatedly discusses the failures of Ron Sams.

Due to time constraints, the now infamous Tom Ross was given a short amount of time to speak.  This is the first appearance he has made publicly in Sussex County since the election in November.  His speech, well, it must be listened to, and you may do so below.  It really picks up a notch at about 7 minutes in.

Please watch the video and make your own opinions accordingly (we all know I’ll add my own opinions in a bit).

Delaware GOP faces backlash – “Chaos” in Sussex over Christine O’Donnell

Published November 9, 2010 by Sussex County Angel

Accusations are flying around in Sussex County in regards to Tom Ross and the Delaware GOP.  Judson Bennett is calling the Sussex GOP meeting last night “chaos” while others are claiming respect was shown but it was “heated”.  So what exactly happened?

Last night a resolution was presented to Ron Sams which was as follows:

” Mr. Chairman,

I make a motion to censure State GOP Chairman, Tom Ross for making inappropriate statements and failing to immediately endorse and fully support a lawfully elected republican candidate for the US Senate. Inappropriate statements include, ” she couldn’t be elected dog catcher,” when speaking about US Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell. Tom Ross fails to represent the will of the rank and file republicans in Delaware.”

Don Ayotte claims Ron Sams (the Sussex County GOP chair) knew this resolution was to be presented; Ron then attempted to bypass the “New Business” section of the evening so the resolution would not be voted on.  Ron Sams claims he was simply not given enough time to get to the “New Business” part of the agenda before people began clamoring for this resolution to be presented.

“The people’s choice won the primary, but the people have no say in holding the GOP chair in check”.  A vote of the crowd was taken at the Sussex GOP meeting.  The people claim Tom Ross doesn’t speak for them.  The people have spoken.  Over 100,000 people voted for Christine O’Donnell (who, according to Tom Ross, couldn’t be elected dog catcher).  Christine may not have won the election, but she did win the primary, proving she could at least beat the infamous Mike Castle.

Judson Bennett claims the vote was not valid regardless as there must be 50 committee members available to vote and only 31 were present.  This vote to censure Tom Ross is not legally binding; however, it seems the people are paying attention.  Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips called for the vote to take place at the next meeting with 50 committee members present.  What else did Vance Phillips say about the Sussex County GOP meeting last night?

“If the energy at last night’s GOP meeting can be engaged through effective leadership, clear vision and a sustainable plan, the new conservative Republican party will start to win statewide elections beginning in 2012.  If the old guard attempts to manipulate the Republican masses, they do so at their own political peril, forever being remembered as the has-beens who permanently divided the Delaware Republican Party.

I applaud the initiative to put forth the resolution.  I am proud of the 95% of the people in the room who supported it.  I am embarrassed by tape-recording extremist who flail and disrupt an otherwise logical discussion about asserting a collective vote of no-confidence in current leadership.

I am disappointed the Sussex Chairman did not recognize the representative of the Christine O’Donnell campaign while candidates were being given time to thank the group for their hard work during the election.  This concerns me greatly as it, along with the blatant and biased stonewalling of a resolution that had the overwhelming support of the committee and Republicans in attendance, indicates that even on the local level leadership still doesn’t get it.  ”

Frank Knotts says “Some may see this as division among the GOP. I see it as a coming together of conservatives.”  Maria Evans, whom Frank Knotts accused of “Big Brother tactics” claims that after Christine O’Donnell won the primary, Tom Ross’s rhetoric stopped.  Maria Evans recorded the meeting in question and has yet to publish that recording (although she may now as people are personally requesting her to do so).

Here is a question many may not be asking.  When Tom Ross made his rude comments regarding Christine O’Donnell, was he doing so as Delaware GOP chair or was he doing so in a more personal capacity? Are the man and the office one and the same?

Judson Bennett claims “Regardless, without compromise, with this “take no prisoners”, vitriolic attitude, the Delaware GOP will not rebuild, will not heal, and will continue to lose elections.”

This writer tends to agree.  The People have spoken.  With the Delaware GOP ignoring the vote of many of its registered voters, it may never fully recover.  Although many are blaming Tom Ross and the Delaware GOP for Christine O’Donnell’s loss, this may not be the case.  Christine’s spotted past is not Tom Ross’s fault.  Tom Ross’s statements, however, he should be held responsible for.

Cardinal-Designate Burke tells Catholics vote Pro-Life

Published November 1, 2010 by Sussex County Angel

Although it would seem like a common sense ideal, many have yet to come out and say it (religion and pro-life).  Cardinal-Designate Raymond Burke was told he would be elevated to Cardinal status on October 20th, 2010.  Within hours of being informed of the status change Cardinal-Designate Burke told an interviewer Americans should never vote for a candidate who is not pro-life.  Life Site News reports:

“You can never vote for someone who favors absolutely the right to choice of a woman to destroy a human life in her womb or the right to a procured abortion,” the archbishop told Thomas McKenna, President of Catholic Action for Faith and Family, in an interview released this week.

The highlight of the interview for me is Cardinal-Designate Burke’s addition for those who vote for politicians who are pro-choice.

“Here’s the perfect example of Catholics who betray their Catholic faith in political life, as legislators, as judges, or whatever it may be, leading other people to believe that abortion must not be the great evil that it is, or that abortion is in fact a good thing in certain circumstances.”

To those who would vote for pro-abortion politicians because they agree with those politicians on other issues, the archbishop said he would say, “Do you follow the golden rule that was taught to us by the Lord himself in the Gospels?”

“In other words,” he explained, “do you do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Do you really consider it fair to advance some interest you have, which may be a good interest – whether it’s the environment, or whatever it might be – at the cost of denying to other members of society, especially those who depend upon us completely for life itself, to deny them the right to life?

“I think that if most people would reflect in this way, simply in terms of the golden rule, they would realize that no, it can never be right.”

Is anyone here Catholic?

Inconsistencies in the “Main Stream Media” – Even CNN changes their story

Published November 1, 2010 by Sussex County Angel

CNN talked about a “war of words“, giving quotes from the cable network operator Tim Qualls in regards to the Christine O’Donnell’s un-aired campaign ad.  Tim Qualls is quoted as stating “We didn’t receive the show until Saturday night.  They showed up at my employee’s house…at 11 p.m.” Qualls does tell CNN that an employee MAY have accepted payment for the ad to air.

Four hours later CNN has changed their story.

“According to a statement from the O’Donnell campaign, the ad aired at 3 p.m. ET Monday and will appear again at 6 and 6:30 p.m. ET Monday and at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. ET Tuesday.

Qualls says there was a miscommunication over the ad – but does confirm the matter has been resolved and the ad is airing. He does note the times in the campaign statement are off, stating the ad ran at 3 p.m. ET Monday and is now scheduled to run again at 11:30 pm Monday and on Tuesday at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. ET.”

The Christine O’Donnell campaign released the following statement:

“The half-hour long special from the O’Donnell campaign was not aired as scheduled on Sunday night and Monday morning. Delaware 28 Executive Producer Tim Qualls explained to the campaign that he was out of the area for the weekend because of a family illness, and was apparently unaware of the campaign’s transaction last Friday between a local third-party buyer and Channel 28 employees.

“Mr. Qualls is being incredibly cooperative now that he finally understands the situation, and we cannot thank him enough for helping us get Christine’s message out to the voters of Delaware. We are sincerely sorry for any misunderstanding that has transpired and that may have added stress to his family situation.

“The Christine O’Donnell television ad is expected to air on Delaware 28 tonight at 6 PM and 6:30 PM, and again Tuesday at 10 AM and 3 PM ET. The campaign is also seeking broadcast opportunities into Delaware through Philadelphia and Salisbury, MD television stations.”

I have to wonder, if the station was right about airing the campaign ad, why are they now airing the ad 6 times instead of the 3 times the ad was paid for.  Seems to me like they are apologizing.

Qualls also said their station was inundated with calls.

Keep it up guys, it is the last midnight.
