Romney-Ryan are first presidential ticket to lose both home states since 1972

Published November 7, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

President Obama and Vice-President Biden defeated Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan on Tuesday in an election that had many Republicans biting their nails. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan did manage to break at least one record during their failed bid to lead the country. The two Republican hopefuls each lost the election in their home states, the first time since 1972.

“Who here wanted Romney” asks the Tea Party

Published November 7, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Many Republicans are expressing disdain at the thought of another four years of President Obama. Some have started blaming Ron Paul and the Libertarians. Others blame the establishment Republican Party for nominating Mitt Romney. The fact remains, the Tea Party became angry on Tuesday.

Here’s the article Brooks Witzke, Republican hopeful, doesn’t want you to see

Published November 5, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

I had a chat with Scott Witzke regarding this article. He called me after I wrote it and we talked for a total of about 40 minutes.  Scott asked me to take this article down after the election because Brooks Witzke is 22-years-old.  I am doing this for Scott Witzke, not for Brooks. Brooks got 43.6% of the vote for Sussex County Clerk of the Peace with 37,780 votes. This is quite an accomplishment. I would like to congratulate Brooks for gathering the votes that he did, and to thank Scott Witzke for his time.

Eric Bodenweiser indicted on multiple sex crimes charges

Published October 22, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

This is what the Sussex County Post had to report:

Eric Bodenweiser withdrew from his state Senate race last week and has been charged.

GEORGETOWN – A Georgetown man who was the winner in September’s Republican 19thSenate District Primary but subsequently withdrew last week was jailed today, arrested and charged with more than 100 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, Delaware’s Department of Justice reports.

The Sussex County Grand jury today indicted Eric Bodenweiser, 53, on multiple sex crimes charges following a criminal investigation conducted by the Delaware State Police.

Today’s indictment consists of 113 total counts, including 39 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse first degree and 74 counts of unlawful sexual contact second degree.

The investigation which led to today’s charges was initiated by Delaware State Police several weeks ago after police received information that Mr. Bodenweiser had sexually abused a child, according to DOJ public information officer Jason Miller.

As a result of the investigation, prosecutors sought today’s indictment, which charges Mr. Bodenweiser with the sexual abuse of a juvenile victim between October 1987 and August 1990.

Immediately following the indictment, Mr. Bodenweiser turned himself into state police at the Sussex County Courthouse, was arraigned in Superior Court, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $250,000 secured bail.

If he posts bail, Superior Court Judge E. Scott Bradley ordered the he be monitored by GPS device and that he be subject to pre-trial supervision by Probation and Parole.

Mr. Bodenweiser, who defeated incumbent state Sen. Joseph Booth in the Sept. 11 primary, first suspended his campaign Oct. 12 and then officially withdrew Wednesday, Oct. 17.

113 felony counts? WOW! $250,000 in bail! Wonder if he’s going to post bail…

I have to assume that the Delaware State Police dotted every I and crossed every T before they brought Eric in considering the election.  I’ve heard people question the timing of this.  My own two cents:

If Eric did this – shame on him, he deserves everything he gets.

If Eric did not do this – it doesn’t really matter, his political career is over before it even began.  He’ll never be able to disprove this.

What’s the going rate for a few hours of Christine O’Donnell’s time?

Delaware Primary Results / Upsets

Published September 12, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

with 99% reporting (Check the results here)

http://elections.delaware.gov/results/html/election.shtml

Interesting points – At least stuff that threw me off:

TURNOUT:

Democrats have 17%

Republicans have 13%

Democrat US Senate –

Tom Carper won, Keith Spanarelli did get almost 6,000 votes though at 12.2%

Republicans – Representative in Congress

Tom Kovach won – Rose Izzo got a surprising 34.5%

Democrat Insurance Commissioner -

Karen Weldin Stewart won with 32.9%

Mitch Crane was next with 30.3%

Paul Gallagher had 19.8%

Dennis Spivack had 17.0%

(This race is interesting to me because of the large number of people who voted, and the way the percentages were spread around.  If more people were active third party members, 30% of the vote could make a winner)

Senate District 6

Democrat – Andy Staton won (58.1%)

Republican – Ernie Lopez won (54.9% or almost 400 votes)

This was interesting – I wonder if that autobot call by the 35th ED CONSERVATIVE PAC had something to do with this… I thought it was kind of not needed.

Republican Senate District 19

Eric Bodenweiser pulled it off.  He beat the incumbent Joe Booth by 200 votes

Eric had 52.7% and Joe had 47.3%

Democrat – Representative District 20:

Marie Mayor won this with 64.9%

Lynn Rogers had 28.9% and Tom Jones had 6.2%

The last one that really interested me was County Council District 3…

Republican Don Ayotte beat Brent Wangen… by about 130 votes…

That’s it! The results are in – congratulations to the winners, sorry to the losers, and there really were some surprises for me…

Rick Santorum did not have a gay dating app on his iPhone

Published July 4, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Former U.S. presidential candidate Rick Santorum has recently been the subject of a hoax on DailyCurrant.com, a satire website. The article, published Tuesday, claimed that Santorum had been caught with a well-known app on his iPhone. Grindr, a gay dating app used known for the “world’s biggest mobile network of guys”, was not found of the former senator’s phone, despite the many online who have been fooled.

The article on the Daily Currant received over 5,000 Facebook shares in a few hours. Santorum has raised the ire of many in the LGBT community based upon his numerous statements comparing homosexuality to incest and bestiality. The Daily Currant claimed that Santorum had downloaded the app, had it on his iPhone’s home screen, and told a reporter it was for finding Starbucks.

Is that – is that – Grindr Mr. Santorum?” the young reporter can be heard saying on videotape of the incident.” America’s number one gay dating app?”

“Grindr? What’s no? The yellow one? Oh right. OK. Grindr. Like coffee grinds. Yeah that’s something I downloaded for coffee It finds the nearest Starbucks.”

Despite the fact that the article is a hoax, and claims to be a hoax at the bottom of the piece, many have latched on to the story and are sharing it all over social networks. In a society where headlines stand out, this headline has many waiting for an official statement from Rick Santorum.

Vance Phillips Press Release calls whomever sent the anonymous letter “Georgetown bin Laden”

Published June 19, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Vance Phillips’ attorney, Joe Hurley:

Last week, Councilman Vance Phillips was the victim of a bin Laden attack. The terminology which will always live in American ignomy, refers to a spineless coward who sits in the darkness, and deliberately, and gleefully, inflicts pain on innocents in order to accomplish his deranged agenda. Pakistan had its bin Laden. Sussex County has one as well.

Not content to attempt to assassination of the character of Vance Phillips, Georgetown bin Laden, targeted innocent members of the General Assembly with public attacks launched from the darkness, of course, that would imperil their political careers. Finally, and in what may be described as perhaps the most steroidal act of revulsion, Georgetown bin Laden, maliciously, identified a young lady as a participant in criminal activity alleged by him.

Fortunately the United States of America had Navy Seals as its disposal to dispatch the Pakistani spineless excuse for humanity to kingdom come. Unfortunately, Vance Phillips does nto have that luxury.

All that Vance Phillips can do, and now does, is to challenge Georgetown bin Laden to come out of his nest n the “darkness”, and separate himself from other cowards of his ilk, if there are any, and stand in the light of day and prepare to “bring it on”. Vance will be waiting.
Georgetown bin Laden can present his evidence and Vance will present his. One of them will stand acquitted. If it is Vance, and it will be, as the Jihadist rat shrinks back into his hole, he will become the target and, more specifically, as he slinks along the laser will focus on him and his assets should there be any and justice will be done.

Despite my own issues with an anonymous letter stating that someone raped a young woman, it’s a stretch to compare an anonymous letter with the killing of thousands… In fact, it’s insulting.

Also, here is an update via Delaware Grapevine, looks like someone read the letter here…

When the legislators got home Tuesday evening after their session in Dover, they found an anonymous letter in their mail. It was sordid.

“This letter is written to inform Delaware elected officials, elected by the people I might add, of the situation that began in 2010 and may still be ongoing today involving Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips of the 5th District and an under aged girl,” it began.

That certainly got everyone’s attention.

The letter was two pages long. It accused Phillips, a Republican, of carrying on an improper relationship with a 17-year-old whom he met while both of them were working on the campaign for Glen Urquhart, the Republicans’ congressional candidate two years ago.

“I place the ball in your court and request you ferret out your own bad apple. I suggest to you that if you fail to do the right thing with regard to Mr. Phillips, the situation will be made public through the regular media as well as social media. In addition, the public will be made aware that you were complicit,” it said.

The letter was signed, “An Anonymous Sussex County Citizen.”

Phillips got himself a lawyer. It is Joe Hurley, the noted defense attorney.

“My guess is the letter is from someone in the law enforcement community. It is threatening. Let the coward come out of the darkness into the light, and there will be a responsible accounting. It’s a bullying, cowardly personality that wrote that,” Hurley said.

“Vance will be cooperating completely.”

With “An Anonymous Sussex County Citizen” talking about under-aged sex and with Hurley talking about defamation, the investigation could go anywhere.

This case is not a whodunit but a who-done-what.

Agreed. Can we say WTF?

Vance Phillips and an anonymous letter

Published June 16, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

OK – so there’s this via Delaware Liberal:

BREAKING & DEVELOPING: DSP Investigating Anonymous Letter Sent to DE House Members that Includes Criminal Allegations Against an Elected Official

I have been given an overview of what is in the letter from a source. Apparently, the contents of the letter have been an open secret or a well traveled rumor in Sussex County Republican circles for the last two years, and involve all the star players of the Sussex County Republican Party. Indeed, if the contents of the letter are true, it will devastate the Sussex County Republican Party and ruin the careers of three prominent Sussex County Republicans, and possibly lead to their criminal indictments.

The anonymous letter was sent to every single member of the House of Representatives. It contains allegations that Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips was involved with a minor female, aged 17 years old, two years ago, during the 2010 campaign. The implication is that this relationship was sexual, and I am told from another source that it was consensual.

I am told the letter goes into detail as to places and times where Phillips and the minor female were together. I am also told that this has been known in Republican circles of power downstate for some time. Indeed, allegedly, Glenn Urquhart knew about the affair, confronted Phillips about it, and, together with the minor female’s family, had her sent away to a religious school in another state.

The alleged affair colored the relationship between Phillips and Sheriff Jeff Christopher, who also may have known about the affair. Indeed, you recall the physical altercation between Phillips and Christopher over the Sheriff’s illegal and unconstitutional power grab? Well, allegedly, one of the witnesses of that altercation was the minor female’s grandfather. If this is all true, than that confrontation is seen in a whole new light.

The minor female is no longer a minor today. She is 19 now. We don’t know if the relationship is still going on.

Now, this all raises a number of questions.

Now, Delaware Politics apparently wants no comments on this, but Delaware Liberal is encouraging discussion.  They also asked a few questions:

I am adding my own opinions to their questions.  Because I blog to share those opinions.  I will not, however, be revealing the young woman’s name.

1. Is any of it true?

I remember the Urquhart campaign, I was approached several times for help, but declined.  There were many people who did not decline, for their own reasons, political advancement or belief in the candidate.  One of whom would be, I believe, the girl they are referring to in this letter (yes, she was a GIRL at the time, important distinction).  I know there were plenty of times when Vance and this girl ran around the state doing this or that, and yes, they were alone.  That, was common knowledge.

The thing is, I kind of feel like a lot of this is crap.  It’s going to be practically impossible to disprove these allegations, and people will now whisper about it for, well, most likely both of their lives.  When the campaign was going on, people were running around all over the place, and from the girl’s perspective, if Glen had won she would have been a nice start to her political career.

So, I may kick myself for saying this later, but I don’t think anything sexual occurred.  I am not rushing to anyone’s aid in this, I’m saying it because I feel I should speak.

Vance has made a lot of enemies politically recently, it was common knowledge that he spent a lot of time with a young woman, and the logical conclusion would be for his political enemies to use that to their advantage.

2. Even if true, is any of this a crime?

Yes.

3. Why now?

Delaware Liberal may have a point here… but honestly, I don’t know.

4. What now?

Sit back and wait.

Of course, the young woman that I’m thinking if was not shipped off to a religious school in another state, she was super hyped when she got accepted.  She is also in a committed relationship with someone who is definitely NOT VANCE (I’ve seen pictures, the guy is NOT Vance in a wig or anything)!

A letter sent to every member in the House is a pretty firm statement… It’d be messed up to make that allegation without proof… Do you think the Delaware State Police will go all CSI and fingerprint them? Bet someone’s prints are on at least one of those letters that shouldn’t be there…

Can Romney and Ron Paul come together as a team and beat Obama?

Published June 4, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

I’m getting all these hits on my blog – google searches “can Romney and Paul ever come together”?

This surprises me, maybe the GOP is starting to realize that Romney cannot win without help, people don’t like him, and Johnson is poised to be a spoiler…

So, can Ron Paul and Mitt Romney ever come together to win the 2012 election?

With Ron Paul as president – yes

With Mitt Romney as president – no

I would rather cut off a limb then vote for Mitt Romney – I am not alone.

If you want to win – vote Ron Paul – otherwise, sorry Republicans…
