Homeland Security is building a $4 billion 170-acre complex for 17,000 employees

Published December 3, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Did you know the Department of Homeland Security is building a $4 billion, 170-acre complex for 17,000 employees? It was news to me…

“The US Department of Homeland Security, despite budget cuts and construction delays, is planning to add 17,000 employees into its consolidated headquarters in southeast Washington. The department broke ground at their new headquarters in 2009 and was originally scheduled for completion in 2016. The new complex is now scheduled for completion in 2022.”

Harry Reid vows Federal Transparency Act will never be voted on in the Senate

Published July 25, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Harry Reid

Supporters of Rep. Ron Paul and sound monetary policy rejoiced online as they heard of the passage of H.R. 456, the Federal Transparency Act, on Wednesday. Their joy, however, was short-lived as within an hour of the bill passing word spread from the office of the Harry Reid. The Senate Majority Leader and Nevada Democrat has vowed the Federal Transparency Act will not be put to a vote in the Senate.

Harry Reid had previously expressed support for an audit of the Federal Reserve. Perhaps seeing the overwhelming support the H.R. 459 received in the House of Representatives made Reid wary of the Federal Transparency Act passing. H.R. 459passed by a bipartisan vote of 327-98.

Ron Paul supporters have already begun to get active online, sharing the contact information to Harry Reid’s office. One supporter called his office instantly, claiming that he would be encouraging his friends to vote Harry Reid out of office.

The contact information being shared is the following:

Can Romney and Ron Paul come together as a team and beat Obama?

Published June 4, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

I’m getting all these hits on my blog – google searches “can Romney and Paul ever come together”?

This surprises me, maybe the GOP is starting to realize that Romney cannot win without help, people don’t like him, and Johnson is poised to be a spoiler…

So, can Ron Paul and Mitt Romney ever come together to win the 2012 election?

With Ron Paul as president – yes

With Mitt Romney as president – no

I would rather cut off a limb then vote for Mitt Romney – I am not alone.

If you want to win – vote Ron Paul – otherwise, sorry Republicans…

I’ve been a registered Libertarian since 1979 (until earlier this month when I registered Republican so I could vote for Ron Paul).

I voted for him first in 1988.

Tea party favorite Ted Cruz forces GOP establishment into runoff in Texas

Published May 30, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Tea Party favorite, Ted Cruz, has been campaigning in Texas against the GOP establishment, namely, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.  Cruz has been endorsed by Ron Paul, Tea Party Express, FreedomWorks, Sarah Palin, and many others associated with the Tea Party.  Cruz was able to hold Dewhurst to gather under 50% of the vote Tuesday, forcing a runoff election between the two on July 31.

Nine candidates had been in the Republican field for Senate in Texas.  Ted Cruz, an attorney, and David Dewhurst, the owner of an energy consortia, both had the highest number of votes.  Dewhurst has been endorsed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry and managed to pour $15 million of his own funds into his campaign to become a senator.

“The voters of Texas want a leader who will be a strong conservative and a fighter, and the lieutenant governor’s record has not been conservative,” Cruz told The Associated Press.  “He has consistently compromised with Democrats, increased spending and increased taxes,” Cruz said. “Despite a mountain of money trying to paint a very different picture, the voters of Texas held him accountable.”

A new Public Policy Polling survey found that Rick Perry’s endorsement actually hurts candidates now.  24 percent of likely Republican primary voters say they would prefer a candidate backed by the infamous Gov. Perry, while 28 percent say they’d be more likely to decline a candidate based on the endorsement of Perry.  In such a close race, that 28% of Republican voters may make quite a difference.

Herman Cain learned from Ron Paul and is calling for a return to a gold standard

Published May 23, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

While Herman Cain was a Republican candidate for President he made headlines for arguing with Congressman Ron Paul over monetary policy and the Federal Reserve.  Herman Cain had worked for the Federal Reserve from 1992 to 1996, a fact that made many conservatives nervous.  Although Herman Cain dropped out of the Republican presidential race in Decemberamidst allegations of sexual impropriety, on Tuesday Herman Cain released his most recent book.  In 9-9-9 An Army of Davids released Tuesday, Herman Cain has agreed with Ron Paul and called for a return to the gold standard.

Herman Cain reportedly devotes over a quarter of his most recent book to “passionate advocacy of the gold standard“.

However imperfect a gold standard may be, it remains the best among all alternatives. The empirical data for both the classical gold standard, which I favor—and even the flawed “gold-exchange” standard, as we had under the Bretton Woods system—are impressive.

I realize the Washington establishment goes ballistic at this suggestion. Gold is kryptonite to big-spending politicians. It is to the moochers and looters in government what sunlight and garlic are to vampires.

It is interesting how quickly Herman Cain has changed his stance on monetary policy.  Writing for the Wall Street Journal, Cain explains that he realizes how popular a return to a gold standard is among Americans.

Nearly half (44%) support a return to a gold standard, according to an October 2011 Rasmussen Report. That support soars to 57% when respondents know it will “dramatically reduce the powers of bankers and the political class to steer the economy.”

In his book, Cain and his co-author, Rich Lowrie, provide principles for a smooth transition to a gold standard.  Congressman Ron Paul has yet to comment on his influence on Herman Cain.

How to stop Facebook from using your pictures in their advertising

Published May 22, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Facebook stocks dropped over 10% on Monday, the first day after the stock went public.  The social network has had its fair share of negativity in the press in the last few days, including one mother who dedicated a page to her son and had it taken away.  General Motors announced thattheir Facebook ads did not work and Greenlight reported that 44% of Facebook users never click on the sponsored ads on the side of the page.

The Facebook IPO started at $38 and many speculate the actual value Facebook is in the $16-24 range.  Facebook has made a few changed recently which you may not be aware of, changes which may help increase the value of their stock.

Have you paid attention to the third party ads and social ads on Facebook?  Did you know that when you upload an image to your Facebook page, you are giving Facebook access to that image?

What are third party ads
Third party ads are ads shown by companies and people on Facebook. These might be tailored to small medium or large businesses. FB once ran into trouble with these ads as they were using users photos in the ads. That according to Facebook will not happen again but if in case this does happen in the future you need to protect yourself against it.

What are social ads
Social ads track the likes of your friends. So if one of your friends likes an ad on Facebook. You will see their name below the ad with the caption (name of friend who likes this). Social ads on Facebook pair your likes beside ads to show to your friends.

Ron Paul did not just drop out – Julie Borowski joins the Angel Clark Show tonight

Published May 14, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Tonight on the Angel Clark Show on Radio Freedom we have Julie Borowski, Ezra Van Auken, and Will McVay!

Julie Borowski is a libertarian policy analyst and activist. She has a YouTube channel called TokenLibertarianGirl where she discusses free market economic policies and Ron Paul’s presidential campaign. She was just recently featured in a Business Insider’s Women of the Ron Paul Revolution profile.  Julie will be joining us early on to talk about the latest press release from the Ron Paul campaign team, as well as the spin the media is giving it.

In other words, no, Ron Paul did not just drop out.

He has only suspended campaigning in PRIMARY states that have not yet voted. The media unfortunately doesn’t understand the difference between primaries and caucuses. They desperately need a civics lesson.

Ron Paul has announced his campaign strategy to acquire delegates. That is all. He is now solely focused on CAUCUSES. It’s a smart move. He’s going to continue to do what he has been doing which has been working. Tampa could get rowdy as there is still a possibility that Mitt Romney may not have all 1,144 delegates necessary to secure the nomination.

Ezra will be joining us to talk about his new alternative media website, Spread Liberty News.

  • I’m 18 years old from Phoenix, Maryland. I’ve been in the liberty movement for 2 years now, and realized the corruption through the school system i was going through

  • which opened my eyes to all of the corruption throughout our country

  • which really just inspired me to start media that MATTERS!

And Will McVay will be joining us to talk about a bet he made about running for office…

Ron Paul wins Maine despite allegations of Romney supporters attempting to cheat

Published May 7, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

Despite not being declared the winner in Maine’s Republicancaucus in February, Ron Paul, the Republican Congressman from Texas, won a majority of delegates in the state on Sunday.  The weekend also saw results for Ron Paul in Nevada as 22 out of 25 electable delegates support the Republican presidential candidate.  In Maine, reports vary regarding the number of Ron Paul supporters became delegates, with some news sources reporting 23 out of 24delegates for Ron Paul while other sources report 21 out of 24 delegates for Paul.

However many delegates Ron Paul and his supporters did manage to win in Maine, two facts are not disputed.  It was almost a full sweep and it was a hard fought battle for every delegate.

One witness claims that the convention was purposefully delayed.  The convention started late, every vote was counted and recounted (in some cases there were numerous recounts).  There are also claims that Romney supporters attempted to provoke Paul supporters (in the hopes the Paul supporters would be kicked out) and that attempts to stall time included over 200 people being nominated as national delegates.  Then each nominated person went to stage, one-by-one, to withdraw his or her nomination.  Most alarming of all were the numerous reports of Romney supporters handing out fake ballots to voters.  The fake delegate slate (seen here) was written in the same style and font as the original (seen here).

Mitt Romney supporters, despite their alleged under-handed attempts to keep Ron Paul supporters from running the show in Maine, claim the party should unite behind one candidate.

… Romney supporter, delegate John Carson of Kittery, acknowledged, “this is a split convention”.  “The Paul supporters have had a successful process and should be congratulated on that,” said Carson, a veteran of numerous state conventions.  “I think it’s important that the Romney camp and Paul camp come together and support a single candidate,” Carson said, adding that candidate should be Romney.

Only time will tell whether these Romney supporters will come together and support Ron Paul.  Ron Paul supporters have been quite vocal about refusing to support Romney.

Examiner has declared this not newsworthy.  I disagree.

Thousands gather to see Ron Paul and the Tea Party Express in Texas (with PICS)

Published May 7, 2012 by Sussex County Angel

On Sunday, thousands in Texas gathered for a Tea Party Express rally.  This rally featured Ron Paul, his son and Senator Rand Paul, Tea Party Express chair Amy Kremer, and Texas Republican candidate for U. S. Senate, Ted Cruz.  Many expressed relief to see a Tea Party organization not rushing to support Mitt Romney.

Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign ChairmanJesse Benton said “One day this rally will occupy a special place in our history books when the Paul family and tea party are credited with restoring American government to its constitutional limits.  How soon this recognition comes is up to voters”.

Ron Paul Radio included live coverage from the Tea Party Express rally with Ron Paul.  It is archived and available fordownload here.

On Thursday, Michele Bachmann endorsed Romney.  Gingrich is expected to endorse Mitt Romney in a few weeks despite his previous reputation as a “Tea Party candidate” and Romney being considered the “establishment candidate“.  However, many Republican voters claim to be less than enthusiastic about supporting Mitt Romney and are looking for an alternative.

Despite Governor Mitt Romney being the perceived “front runner” in the Republican race for their presidential candidate, Congressman Ron Paul maintains he will remain in the race.  His strategy has most recently won delegates in Iowa, Alaska, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.  The Huffington Post reported Thursday that Ron Paul will be on the ballot at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, meaning that Paul has won at least five states.  The Associated Press is reporting that Ron Paul won a victory in Maine on Sunday.  In fact, Ron Paul won 21 out of 24 delegates in Maine.

Only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul remain in the Republican race for the presidential nomination.

Examiner has declared my story on this to be not newsworthy… ugh
