Many people have been paying attention to the United States Supreme Court lately, mainly due to their examination of Obamacare. In fact, a new poll released on Monday shows that the approval rating of the Supreme Court is way up. Forty-one percent of likely voters now rate the Supreme Court’s performance as good or excellent, regardless of the fact that the justices just voted that Americans might be strip searched for any reason, even minor traffic offenses.
Approval of the Supreme Court had fallen three consecutive quarters in a row before the examination of Obamacare last week. Despite the fact that the Supreme Court justices scoffed at reading the 2,700 page health care legislation known as Obamacare, a majority of Americans believe that the legislation will be overturned. Most voters want the health care law repealed and 54 percent expect to see that happen in June.
The President himself seemed worried, asking if the Supreme Court can legitimately overturn Obamacare.
Dr. Gutzman recently wrote a book, James Madison and the Making of America. He is an excellent choice to discuss what Madison would have thought about Obamacare, but also to discuss its constitutionality, as his first book was the New York Times best seller The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution, an account of American constitutional history from the pre-Revolutionary days to the present.
