  1. While I support you and reposted your post about being banned, given that Facebook is a private entity much like your blog though bigger, I found this ironic:

    “Angel moderates all comments.

Angel reserves the right to remove any comments she chooses based on any reasons she sees fit.”

So does Mark Zuckerburg & Company, apparently.

    • Ah, yes, and I also ban people from my Facebook fan page whenever I feel like it. But I don’t pretend to be open and fair to all. That’s kind of the point. If you want to ban people for promoting Capitalism, that’s fine, but be honest about it.

    • Yes, Tom, I believe we’re all aware of that, lol. But that actually wasn’t the issue, was it. We know they CAN censor us, Tom (and, oh, boy, do they!), but, AGAIN, they’re showing that they’re just a typical bunch of sleazy-assed, liberal-progressive-socialist Obama-drones whose practically sole purpose now is to support ALL things AGAINST the best interest of our country (I think we all know what they are, don’t you?), and to enforce, cram-down-our- throat and circumvent virtually ALL efforts to support and defend our country and maintain it as the greatest, free-est and most prosperous country the world has ever known, just as the Founding Fathers had intended it, and the VAST majority of AMERICAN citizens wish to continue to have and maintain. I think that’s the issue, don’t you?

  2. hmmm This is a really disturbing circumstance because there is nothing you posted that was offensive or vulgar. I find it equally disturbing that you complain about censorship when, in fact, you censor and delete. I understand that you don’t pretend to be fair to all but that is a flimsy defense. I actually never post on your page because I am a hybrid ~ an old fashioned liberal blended with a new fashioned libertarian. I’m hesitant to post cos your readers lump all liberals together and don’t seem to understand there’s still some of us liberals left from JFK days that are not crazy like the current neolibs just as there are some conservatives leftover from the days before neocons. It seems to me when you reserve the right to censor you can’t really complain when you’ve been censored. To be fair, I enjoy your FB page and your show. Thank you!

    • In reality, there is no liberal or conservative, just a blend of personal beliefs differing from every single individual. The divisiveness is simply a diversion so Americans won’t notice that both parties take turns destroying our Constitution and personal liberties. They want Americans all fighting against each other based on some phony projected illusion, so that the entity that controls both parties can work to the detriment of all Americans.

There is no Right or Left, only Right or Wrong.

    • I don’t lump all “liberals” together. I mainly ban trolls, people who insult me or try to tell me that Obama is ok because Bush did the same thing. I used to consider myself a classical liberal. In other words, comment away 😀 Please!

    • Freedon of speech doesn’t extend to privately owned pages (which is why Angel is able to block content as well). I’m not a faceboy fanboy, quite the opposite. But they *do* have the same disclosure…” (fb) reserve the right to remove any comments (fb) chooses based on any reasons (fb) sees fit”….Just playing Devils Advocate. However, I still think it is bs they took it down, and I’ll be posting it on (several of) my profiles 🙂

  3. Let’s all start acting like “liberals” and try to get the government to take FaceBook’s private property rights (such as those that allow them to edit their own website for any reason, or for no reason) away from them. Then, we can demand the government order TV news networks to submit to the “fairness doctrine.” Next, we can demand the government establish “speech codes” so nobody can say anything that anybody else doesn’t like.

  4. I would like to know what reason justifies banning you for that post its fairly tame and I can’t see the offensive part of a compare and contrast type statement it is, it does make a very good point and could offend some uber Liberals=Facebook?

  5. Once facebook started trading publicly it gave up the right to be someone’s plaything with their own rules. They can no longer ban because “they” they don’t like a post unless they want to spend their entire time fighting free speech lawsuits.

    • I think you are confusing “publicly traded” with “publicly owned”…Free speech *only* applies to government, and citizens when dealing with government. I am on my phone now, will cite the references when I get home. [coupled with the fact that you signed an agreement to facebooks terms when you formed your account. go on to form a new profile and read what they sneak in there]
Feel free to cite source or case law in meantime, it would be interesting to see any court decisions.

  6. If you read the actual verbage of 1A, is “CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment or religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, the freedom of speech or of the press…..yadda yadda” (I am going by memory, google the rest) but the crux is GOVERNMENT can’t restrict speech. Facebook is still a PRIVATE company, like GM…stock is publicly traded, but they are still a civilian owned company, with non-government ceo & board. This was the same confusion regarding that “publicly traded” post that millions were posting. Sucks that they do it, and they are idiots for doing it, but no law or contitutional right has been broken. Google “can facebook restrict speech” and there is a Lifehacker site in the results on first page that explains it quite well. Like I said, I’ll follow up when I get home. I support Angel, and think Fb amounts to underhanded gestapos with the crap they pull, bbut we are powerless to end it short of convincing a few million to a boycott.

  7. I wouldn’t read too much into this. Facebook has a *huge* amount of traffic, and it’s unlikely that this is the result of a manual intervention. It’s probable that what occurred is that those who didn’t care for this post flagged it, and some threshold was reached that tripped an automatic process. While that might indicate that the automatic process should be reviewed for accuracy, the conclusion implied here that Facebook banned the account because one or more people at Facebook found the content not to their liking is a bit of a stretch.

  8. Let’s have an experiment, just for sake of KNOWING: Get about 10 of your conservative friends together and find a liberal post that you find offensive. Gang up on that post, all ten of you flagging it as inappropriate, and wait and see if facebook removes it.
It may be that liberals are ganging up on conservative pages and flagging them, and Facebook, which probably runs on autopilot, instead of paying people to run around searching for every little page they think is offensive and blocking it.
I’ve never heard of your page, and probably facebook staff has never heard of it either.

    • Actually, it will. I run a board on there (subject is not important) that has zero to do with sex, violence, drugs, or those types of subjects, yet we have a rabid stalkers that will pull that kind of crap on pics I put up. It is also why I keep several profiles handy, as two or three are usually working its way through a suspension (it’s also why I knew about the 1A claims, etc…it’s stuff I have to deal with several times a week)

  9. This reminds me of Facebook’s cowardly shutdown of the “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” page a few years ago. I’m beginning to think that Zuckerberg’s portrayal in The Social Network as a conniving back-stabbing little twerp may be closer to reality than many would care to admit. It’s a good thing Facebook is free because it sure as hell isn’t worth paying anything for — that goes for the stock as well.

  10. Hi

I hear ya.I got banned for a week for adding friends that were supposedly not friends. I am so careful about adding new friends on FB that it’s not funny. I contacted support and let them know of my frustration but they never did reply back.

I will like your page!!!!!! Not just for principal but because I really like it! TY for sharing
